  1. Would you mind mind at all if i asked where your interior bulbs were purchased from?
Have they lasted? I'm trying to locate some for a Puma 90 XS and keep finding mixed reviews!
    Many thanks

  2. Hi Lorenzo,

I purchased the lamps from a Chinese supermarket in Spain. They are nothing special, but have lasted well.
I also used one in the number plate light that is still working.
    The light is very good.
Generally these items are mass produced from a single factory in China - I have searched on Amazon and Ebay and the lamps that look to be the same are these:

I should say that the 42mm length is too big for the Defender fitting, so the contacts are bent a bit more than they should be. I have had no problems with this since installing them 18 months ago.

Thank you for your interest and feel free to ask as many questions as you like.

    Regards,

    Mark

  3. Hi, what size are the LED brakelights? and can i use them for the front pole lights?

  4. I would not recommend using this type of LED light for the Defender, the light output is not good.
I am fitting Wipac LED lights which are properly designed for this application.

  5. Have the led bulbs not made much difference in brake light output? I was considering looking at these next as I find the standard ones quite dim!
Can't seem to find a Wipac third level brake light though?

  6. Hi Lorenzo, The Wipac LED lights have improved the light output of the brake lights, but fitting an LED light to the high level (third) brake light reduced the light output.
On my vehicle having all three brake lights as LED caused the traction control light to come on when the heated rear screen was used. I assume there is some sort of interference since the high level brake light and heating element both use printed copper tracks on the rear window. I would recommend leaving the high level brake light as a standard filament bulb.

  7. Excellent, im glad you've gone and experimented!
I got my LED interior lights in today, they're nice and bright!
but they seem to be permanently lit even when left in the middle switch (doors open) setting. They're very dim but I imagine its due to the low voltage they require - no ones had any issues of these drawing too much power have they?

I dont imagine it draining the battery any more than the clock does when locked and left overnight?

    Do yours do the same?
